Bigger is better! Our brand new studio offers the best of everything…all for you!
Best Dance Floor in the World! Our dance floor is the best ballroom dance floor on the market today. Imported from Denmark, it is made of 7/8” solid, hardwood beech. It is a floating system, suspended over foam padding designed especially for ballroom dancing. Don’t ever worry about having to cut your dancing time short due to chronic pains. You will be able to dance for hours and hours on this floor without feeling the aches and pains in your knees, hips, and back.
If you’ve been watching ABC’s smash-hit TV series “Dancing with the Stars”, this is the exact same floor. And we’re not alone – this is the same floor installed in many of the best ballroom dance studios all over the country.
State-of-Art Sound System! Dance the night away to all of your favorite music coming through crystal clear on our new sound system. We’ve paired top of the line speakers with a brand new computerized music system. It provides the best quality music available for your listening pleasure.
And if you’ve danced with us before, you know that we have a great music collection of over 400 mp3 disks that have been collected from all over the world. Plus we’re always adding more!
Theatrical Lighting for Parties and Events! We make our parties and special events even more fun with our theatrical lighting. Twenty-five LED lights have been installed in the Grand Ballroom to light up your life! These special lights change colors from red to blue to green and so on through the entire color spectrum.
This is the same LED technology that Actors Theatre of Louisville, and other top notch theatres across the country use to highlight their actors.

Thirteen dancers from Bravo dance studio traveled to Columbus, Ohio to compete in the prestigious Ohio Star Ball, November 14th – 19th.
The Ohio Star Ball, now in its 29th year, is one of the largest of its kind. It is a six day competition attracting amateurs and professionals from all around the United States. This year there were so many competitors that dancing began at 7 a.m. in the morning and proceeded well into the night.
Competitors competed in all four styles of dance – American Smooth and Rhythm, and International Standard and Latin – in different age and proficiency levels. Representing Bravo Dance Studio and Louisville, Kentucky were amateur competitors Sheron Lear, Sherry Newsome, Patricia Townsend, Fei Fei Chao, Lisa Jones, Sherri Lang, Brenda Bainbridge, Marjorie Luttrell, Mari Borries, and Ann Marie Werner, all competing with professional dancer Alex Ioukhnel. Amateur couple Tongalp and Gülgün Tezel competed as well, dancing a challenging program of smooth, standard, rhythm, and latin over 5 days.
All Bravo dancers danced very well, many passing from quarter finals to semi’s, and from semi finals to finals. Many received first, second and third place awards. After dancing all morning, competitors had time to shop, relax, and even pose for photos with Tony Dovolani and Maksim Chmerkovskiy from Dancing with the Stars fame, who were also competing throughout the week.
Congratulations to all of our competitive dancers. Thank you for representing Bravo dance studio and Louisville, Kentucky with your best.
Lots of Tricks and Treats at Bravo’s Annual Halloween Party!
Every year Louisville’s dancing ghouls and goblins turn out for Bravo Dance Studio’s Annual Halloween Party. This year’s party, held on Friday, October 27th, was no exception.
The party got into full swing with the haunting melody of “Phantom of the Opera”. Plenty of foxtrot, tango, cha cha, and more followed after. Guests mixed and mingled on the dance floor and over cookies, candies, fruit, and soda.
The party took on a haunted Halloween feel with a swing mixer. With all couples on the floor, one additional dancer was added to the group and given a “head on a stake” to swing with. Each time the music stopped, someone new got passed the ghoulish partner.
The true highlight of the evening’s affairs was the costume contest. With over 40 people masquerading, there were ghouls and fairies, witches and clowns of every sort. The large judging panel had their hands full with picking the best of the best. Top costumes were awarded as follows:
Scariest: Terry Monsky, Grim Reaper Funniest: Anne Block, Clown Bag Lady Cutest: Leah Barnet, Card Dealer Most Original: Marjorie Luttrell, Mummy Best Costume: Tie Between 1. Joe Liedtke, Phantom of the Opera 2. Thomas Townsend, Swing Cat
Congratulations to all of our contest winners and a special thank you to everyone who turned out in costume and plain clothes to make this our best Halloween Party yet!
Bravo is pleased to announce impressive results at the MARYLAND DANCESPORT CHAMPIONSHIPS hosted by Glennis Dee. June 9-11th, Louisville was represented by professional dancer Alex Ioukhnel and students Sherry Newsome, Sheron Lear, Fei Fei Chao, Catrina Valadez, Marjorie Luttrell, Patricia Townsend, Lisa Jones, and Ann Marie Werner. Dancing 99 entries in all four styles – ballroom, standard, rhythm, and latin – Bravo is proud to claim 31 first places, 39 second places, 13 third places, 10 fourth places, 4 fifth places, and 2 sixth place finishes.
Amateur dancers Tongalp and Gulgun Tezel represented Bravo Dance Studio at the USA Dance South Central Regional Championships in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Tongalp and Gulgun competed in American Rhythm and Smooth, as well as International Latin in two age groups: Adult and Senior I. They were awarded 4 first places, 1 second, and 1 third place in a very competitive regional championship.
Congratulations to all of our competitive dancers on your noteworthy accomplishments.

Bravo Anniversary Party and Vegas Trip Drawing
On Friday, April 28th Bravo Dance Studio celebrated their Anniversary with a Dance Party, Student Exhibitions, and a Prize Drawing for Weekend in Vegas for Two.
The evening began with all qualified prize drawing entrants being recognized and their names being placed in the drawing bowl. The party continued with general dancing, cake and a champagne toast for everyone.
Featured student exhibitions included Nikki Thind dancing cha cha, Ai-Ling Wang dancing rumba and Lisa Jones dancing samba, all with professional dancer, Alex Ioukhnel. Amateur dancers Paul and Ann Marie Werner also exhibited their waltz and tango competitive figures.
Amidst all the festivities, names were periodically drawn, announced and discarded from the prize drawing bowl. Finally, only 3 names remained in the bowl: Ray Reese, Don Brown, and Wilson and Florence Su. Ray Reese’s name was drawn first, leaving the Grand Prize to one of two eligible entrants. Don Brown’s name was drawn next and he was presented a rubber chicken consolation prize. Wilson Su was present to accept the award on his and his wife’s behalf. The couple will enjoy an exciting weekend in Las Vegas for two, including airfare and hotel, compliments of Bravo Dance Studio.
The staff at Bravo Dance Studio would like to thank all the students and friends of the studio that were present to celebrate. Special Congratulations to Florence and Wilson Su. Please check out the gallery for pictures from the party.
