DanceSport is the competitive form of International Ballroom and Latin, American Smooth and Rhythm, and Nightclub styles. It allows dancers to take their skills to the next level by participating in organized competitions. DanceSport involves both Pro-Am (Professional-Amateur) and Am-Am (Amateur-Amateur) categories, making it accessible to dancers of different levels. Whether you're dancing with a professional or a fellow amateur, you'll find opportunities to compete against others of similar skill and age, ensuring a rewarding and exciting experience.

Am-Am Dancing

Am-Am (Amateur-Amateur) dancing is when two amateur dancers, such as friends, spouses, or dance partners, compete together. This type of DanceSport is perfect for those who want to share the thrill of competition with someone they know well. Am-Am competitions are organized by skill level and age group, ensuring that dancers compete with others at a similar stage in their dance journey. It’s a great way to build camaraderie, work as a team, and represent Bravo Dance Studio at events like USA Dance Nationals.

At Bravo Dance Studio, we take pride in our Am-Am DanceSport program, which allows dancers in Louisville to compete at regional and national levels. By working closely with our instructors, Am-Am dancers develop their technique and enjoy the excitement of representing Bravo Dance Studio in various competitions.

Pro-Am Dancing

Pro-Am (Professional-Amateur) dancing involves an amateur dancer competing with a professional partner, much like on shows like "Dancing with the Stars." In Pro-Am, you get the benefit of dancing with an experienced instructor, which helps accelerate learning and provides a strong partner to support you during competitions. At Bravo Dance Studio, our Pro-Am dancers have the chance to travel to exciting competitions across the country, dancing against other amateur dancers at their own skill level and age. This approach allows dancers to grow their skills while experiencing the thrill of competitive dance with a seasoned professional by their side.
