Beginner Samba Class

Service Description

CARNIVAL DOES NOT REQUIRE A COSTUME Beginner Samba Class Wednesday, Oct 14 | 7:00 PM | 50 min | $12/person Put on Samba music in a room full of people and something happens before anybody has learned a single step. Feet start moving. Shoulders loosen. Somebody always laughs. The music does that on its own, which is exactly why Samba is a good night to walk into cold. What you actually learn is a bounce. Small and springy, living in the knees and ankles, running underneath everything like an engine while your upper body stays out of the way. Find the bounce and the steps stop being steps. Brazil built this one for a street party and it shows. Nothing about Samba is precious. You bounce, you travel, you have a good time, and it is over before you notice. Wednesday October 14, 7:00 PM, Bravo Dance Studio in Louisville. Fifty minutes, $12, beginners only.
