Chandeliers, ballgowns, a room where everyone already knows the rules. The reality is friendlier. Waltz runs on a count of three. One, two, three, one, two, three. If you can walk and count at the same time, you already have the entire foundation. The rise and fall, the gliding, the part that makes people look like they're floating, all of that gets layered on later.
